Blue skies and blue water

I had a lovely day out in the sunshine. I sanded a big batch of Mirabelles all morning and then, having dusted myself off I took my sewing kit down to our pretty beach front café for a long session of tea, chat and sheep sewing. There was no wind but the waves were very big and there were surfers out playing. A tough day in the office really!

My Desk Tidy Triumph

I knew there was a reason I'd been hoarding old broken pallets in my workshop. Today I grabbed a spare half hour to make a substantial desk tidy to tame all my upholstery tools and to organise all the various tapes I use.

 Before....

                 Ta daaa!

And finally here it is in action.

The Ewenique Lavender Farm

Better late than never. The warm sunshine finally got me out of the workshop and up to my sadly neglected allotment. Fortunately the lavender had come through the storms well and a few hours produced good results on at least half of the beds. I'm hoping to make a regular weeding hour each week or so now that I am making sheep full time.

Before...but look at the view!

Order out of chaos....or at least a good start.

A Ewenique Easter

Easter time at Ewenique Furiniture features my tiny flock on top of the Simnel cake. My sister always made these cakes when I was growing up and then my daughter took over the baking of them from a young age so I had to go back to the recipe book to make this one. It certainly tasted delightful and the sheep are now very restricted in their grazing area, its almost all been eaten!
I bought the sheep nearly twenty years ago and they have been out almost every year, but just occasionally they go awol in the larder and have to be replaced with flowers.

The cake looking very at home on my Easter styled dresser.

A close up of the flock, they are all doing different daffy sheep frolics.

Ewenique

Very excited to receive my new stencil from the wonderful www.stencil-library.com. The aim is to paint it on my big plain brown bags I have

for the Mirabelles but now I want to stencil it everywhere! Just have to decide what colour to use!

Day of the Big Boxes

Busy packing up two large sheep, a Harriet and a Stan, into even larger boxes ready to be taken to their new home. It's at times like this when I'm really glad I invested in these very expensive extra strong
boxes. I love the way the Country Living Spring Fair Flock are watching...it'll be their turn next week.

Many Shades of Limewood
The workshop is full of sheep in all stages of construction from the simple sawn outline right through to nearly finished ones part way through upholstery. It's been a busy year already but now I'm building the flock who will travel up to London to be part of the Country Living Spring Fair next month.
